Hi, I think I found a book I love almost as much as any book by Sarah J Maas. Ok, Nothing will compare to her, BUT you guys, this book!! I loved it so much. I don’t even know where to start.
I waited and waited for release day, envious of all those who got an ARC. Hopefully, one day I’ll start to receive some glorious ARCS…hint hint publishers.

Book Rating: 5/5 Everything in this book was 5/5, and it will be on my list of top 10 favorite books of 2023.
Now onto my review. I don’t even know where to start. The characters were top-notch. Chef’s Kiss. You have that Prince who doesn’t want that role; you have the character who wants to be free and is atoning for his father’s sin. Then you have the girl, who will save it all, or ruin it all. It comes down to either choosing to be selfless or to be selfish. You’ll have to read it to find out.
Also, I love books that throw religion into their plot line. Separating court life and religious life is a thing, but when you mix the two together, you get an even more epic fantasy. Let’s not forget that the author also included necromancy. Something I also love to read about.

There’s much more to this story than meets the eye. In deciding to help rescue one of Lore’s crew members in an illegal trade, she dooms herself in the process. But she’s not sent to an outside mine where she’s sentenced to death. She’s given either that choice or to work for the king to find out if the prince is betraying their court to another. Of course, she chooses to live and begins her life in politics and among nobles. In the midst of things, she’s teamed up with another who is paying for the sins of his father. Yes, that’s right, in this world and kingdom, you pay for the sins of your parents, and in this scenario, Gabe is that person. Gabe and Lore team up to spy on Prince Bastian. Bastian is a tricky one. Is he good? Is he bad? You can’t tell, and so must keep turning those pages.
